Eligible individuals may request accounts on our systems by filling out an online form. Individuals employed by -- or enrolled at -- TAMUQ should file their application here:

TAMUQ (internal) HPC Account Application

Note that only users who have an electronic identity/existence within the TAMUQ organization will be able to reach this webpage. Those who are not employed by nor enrolled at TAMUQ must use this application instead:

Non-TAMUQ (external) HPC Account Application

Occasional Problems with the External Application Form

Some users fill out the account application form but then encounter error messages from the browser when they attempt to submit the application for review and approval. Such errors may look similar to the following:

From past experience the most likely and common reason for this error is that the applicant copies and pastes a body of text from a rich-text environment (e.g. MS Word) into the “Research Description” or “Publications” fields of the form. This tends to bring along certain “non-simple” characters (subscripts, superscripts, Greek letters, mathematical symbols, etc.) into the application fields which the back-end scripts then react badly to.

As a workaround, you may try to use an intermediate text editing application like Notepad++ as a scratchpad where you do your initial paste of the relevant text. After inspecting for and possibly removing additional funny characters, you can then copy and paste from Notepad++ to the form field. I don’t like this solution myself but it is the best I can offer for now. If you think the issue is something other than what I have mentioned here and especially if my suggestion above does not work, do let me know.
